Eight dead: Kenyans among casualties as Arusha racing event goes wrong
A gruesome road accident at Oldonyosambu along the Arusha-Namanga road in Tanzania has left at least eight people dead while others sustained injuries.
According to Arusha Police Commander Jonathan Shanna, the accident occurred on Sunday afternoon after two vehicles collided before veering off the road and ramming into spectators.
Global Publishers reported that the two vehicles, believed to have been speeding at the time of the accident were being driven by a Kenyan and a Tanzanian; the casualties are believed to be from both countries.
The accident victims were reportedly headed for a car racing event, ‘The Arusha Drive 3.’
