Nairobi Diaries director Janet Mwaluda's fiancé laid to rest
It was a sad past week for friends and family of the late Ian Mukuria who succumbed while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital after a short illness.
The fiancé to the Nairobi Diaries director, Janet Mwaluda, was reported dead on Tuesday.
According to the USIU-Africa Alumni Association, Ian, who served as the association's Vice was critically ill and had been admitted in hospital on a Friday before he passed away the following week.
“Dear fellow USIU-Africa Alumni, It is with deep sorrow that we wish to inform you that last evening at 9.45pm, we lost our Vice Chair, Ian Mukuria, who has been critically ill at Nairobi Hospital since Friday last week.
“As the USIU-Africa Alumni Executive Committee, we wish to convey our deepest condolences to his fiancée Janet Mwaluda, all family, friends and colleagues.
“As a team, we thank God for his life, his contribution, hard work, camaraderie, his warmth & generosity while serving on the Alumni Executive Committee.
“Please remember his family in this time of loss. May the Lord God rest his soul in eternal peace,'' the post from the association read.
The late Ian was laid to rest at the Lang'ata cemetery in a small private ceremony attended by family and close friends.
Among those who came to pay their last respects were radio presenter Shaffie Weru and Brian Muiruri.
