President Museveni gifts two musicians 30 cows each
Two loyal National Resistance Movement (NRM) musicians are all smiles in Uganda after President Yoweri Museveni gifted them with 30 cows each.
According to the Nile Post, singers King Micheal and Big Eye were honoured for their work by , 75, following pleas by ragga star and Catherine Kusasira - a senior presidential advisor on Kampala affairs.
The cows were reportedly handed to Michael and Big Eye through President Museveni’s music manager,.
“I, Barugahara and Bebe Cool went to the president and requested him to look into Big Eye and King Michael’s issues, and, today, he has acted accordingly and given them something,” said Kusasira.
Excited by the news, Michael revealed that he had been eying the president’s prized cattle in Rwakitura for a while.
“There were a lot of cows at Kololo recently and I was told they were to be slaughtered. I told Balaam that they too many just to be eaten and that they should just be grazed so he promised to talk to the president about this and today, after receiving a call from Balaam, I was given 30 cows. I will be taking them to Luwero where I will be grazing them from. Come 2022, my voice is going to be sharp from the milk I will be drinking,” said Michael.
According to a report by Sqoop, the two musicians had not received presidential recognition for their work and were handed a top-up of Sh 274,900 to better their lives.
Kusasira and Bebe Cool - on their part- received 50 cows each and a Sh824,700 nod.
Affirming their support, Michael and Big Eye promised to drum up support for the head of state as he seeks re-election a record 6th time in 2021.
