The Nairobian: Manager hacks Family Bank, steals Sh1.5 million from customer
A bank employee was charged with stealing Sh1.5 million from a bank customer by manipulating the computer system.
Abel Odongo Onyango, an employee of Family Bank has been accused of stealing from the bank account of James Njenga through a computerised transaction in the bank’s system between June 26 and July 17.
Onyango, a relationship officer at the bank’s City Hall branch was also accused of accessing a computer system with the intent to commit an offence against the Kenya Information and Communication Act.
He denied the charges before Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi.
The prosecution sought time to make clarifications on sections the accused violated.
