Police in Nyahururu Town, Laikipia County, have arrested a 23-year old woman who was captured on CCTV camera while defiling a two and a half-year-old boy.

Nyahururu Sub-County Police Commander Geoffrey Mayek said the woman had been left with the toddler at Karuga area on the outskirts of Nyahururu town on Friday.

“The woman was captured on CCTV cameras while fondling the minor’s private parts with her fingers before defiling the kid that had been left under her care,” Mr Mayek said.

He said the minor’s parent reported the matter to the police after watching the CCTV footage.

The minor was taken to the Nyahururu County and Referral Hospital for treatment.

He noted that police will press defilement charges against the suspect who was arrested on Sunday.
