Jacque Maribe’s decision to quit her dream of being a lawyer and instead opting to pursue broadcast journalism was all thanks to bagging a role in a Hollywood movie that premiered back in 2005.

At the time she was in State House Girls High School and had joined the drama club.

“Initially, I was meant to do law when I got to State House Girls, I got into the drama club. Things started opening up and I got a movie role in [a Hollywood movie] constant gardner and an role in the tumechill TV adverts,” Maribe told Mista Dru in a live Instagram session.

The media personality was cast into the role of Wanza Kiluhu in the Constant Gardner.

The movie was shot in Loiyangalani and Kibera slum in Nairobi.

The Constant Gardner follows the lives of a British diplomat, Justin Quayle (Ralph Fiennes) who is investigating the murder of his wife, and activist, Tessa (Rachel Weisz). The two were based in Kenya.

Police investigations indicated that Tessa was brutally murdered for investigating a multinational drug company that tests its tuberculosis drugs on children.

The drug’s side effects on residents were fatal, but the big pharmaceutical company did not care as long as they make profits in the long run when the drug goes to market.

As Justin Quayle tries to uncover the death of his wife, he meets up with Wanza Kiluhu (Jacque Maribe) who is a local in Kibera slums.

She points him in the right direction of his investigations.
